OnTerra Systems Introduces Powerful New Multi-route Features For Its RouteSavvy™ Route Planner Software

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OnTerra Systems Introduces Powerful New
Multi-route Features For Its
RouteSavvy™ Route Planner Software

*************************************************************************************************************

New multi-route route planner functions offer fleet managers streamlined ability to optimize routes and make the route planning process more efficient

DENVER, Colo., Dec. 10, 2016 – OnTerra Systems (www.OnTerraSystems.com), a technology leader in web mapping, route optimization, and Bing Maps licensing and services, today introduced new features for optimizing multiple routes for fleets for its RouteSavvy™ route planner software (www.RouteSavvy.com). RouteSavvy’s new multi-route features streamline the process of optimizing routes for multiple vehicles down to a simple, three-step process.

In addition, RouteSavvy is an affordable, highly functional alternative to Microsoft’s MapPoint software, which is no longer being updated and supported. These new functions offered by RouteSavvy are functions not available in MapPoint, offering another compelling reason for MapPoint users to transition to RouteSavvy.

RouteSavvy’s new “Cluster Into New Folders” function allows fleet managers to take a folder of planned locations (customer visits, delivery locations, etc.) and automatically organize those locations into smaller groups by geographic location. For example, if a folder contained 100 locations slated for five delivery trucks, RouteSavvy’s new Cluster Into New Folders function can automatically group locations that are closest to each other in the same geographic area. Then each folder with stops all in the same area can be optimized for the most efficient route to minimize drive time and distance, saving time, labor, and fuel costs.

RouteSavvy’s second new feature is Multiple Routes, which allows users to create, store, and visualize multiple routes on the same map, with each route depicted in a different color. By visualizing a variety of routes on the same web map in different colors, fleet and operations managers responsible for optimizing routes can visually review multiple routes, identify locations that could be more efficiently grouped into another route, and re-assign specific stops or delivery locations to a more appropriate route to increase efficiency.

RouteSavvy’s third enhancement is a Change Stop Order feature. This new function allows users to move a stop from one position to another without using up/down arrows. This is particularly useful for larger routes. For example, if a user has 100 stops and would like to move stop 25 to position 75, they simply right click on the stop and select “Change Stop Order,” enter the numeric value and save, and then use the “Get Directions” feature to get driving directions with the new stop order. (When this function is performed, users don’t need to optimize the route again as that will reset the stop order and negate the change.

All three of these new functions offered by RouteSavvy are designed to streamline the route planning process for businesses and organizations with multiple vehicles. RouteSavvy’s new multi-route functions will streamline and speed up the process of actually planning and optimizing routes, saving time for those in charge of optimizing routes for fleets.

Ideal industries that will benefit from RouteSavvy’s new multi-route route optimization features include fleets used for service businesses, delivery, and pick-up businesses, such as:  flower deliveries, plumbers, HVAC & electrical service companies, appliance deliveries, waste and recycling pick-up, couriers, product deliveries, commercial cleaning companies, sales and marketing professionals, and more.

“The new multi-route functions are significant enhancements to RouteSavvy that will help our customers optimize routes more quickly and efficiently,” said Steve Milroy, OnTerra Systems’ president and founder. “In addition, these significant enhancements to the RouteSavvy route planner tool underscore our ongoing commitment to RouteSavvy and our customer’s success.”

OnTerra Systems Introduces RouteSavvy™ Premium API

RouteSavvy Premium API offers significantly more functionality that allows independent software vendors and enterprise information technology developers to integrate advanced route optimization into their route planning applications

DENVER, Colo., Nov. 3, 2015 – OnTerra Systems (www.OnTerraSystems.com), a technology leader in web mapping, route optimization, and Bing Maps licensing and services, today introduced the RouteSavvy™ Premium API, a new version of their route optimization application program interface for independent software vendor and in-house software development teams at companies that need enterprise route planning and route optimization software systems. The main reason RouteSavvy route optimization APIs are deployed are to more efficiently route vehicles involved in deliveries, pick-ups, and service calls, saving significant time and money that goes straight to the bottom line.

“Our new RouteSavvy™ Premium API is significant because it offers advanced route optimization features typically available only in custom route optimization systems that typically cost millions of dollars,” explained Steve Milroy, OnTerra Systems CEO.  “In contrast, RouteSavvy Premium API allows independent software development companies and enterprise software development teams to easily integrate advanced route optimization into their route planning systems at a fraction of what it would cost to develop a custom route optimization system.”

RouteSavvy Premium API offers advanced route optimization functions including:

  • Time Windows: This RouteSavvy route optimization feature allows users to specify a window of time when drivers need to arrive at a particular stop. RouteSavvy Premium API can calculate the optimal route for arriving within a specified window of time, and can be used in conjunction with other premium features.
  • Commercial-Truck Road Restrictions: RouteSavvy Premium API can provide optimized routes based on height, width, length, or weight restrictions on certain roads, and recommend an efficient, optimized route appropriate for the height, width, length, or weight of specific vehicles in a company’s fleet;
  • HazMat Driving Restrictions: RouteSavvy Premium API also can factor in Hazardous Materials Road restrictions, and allow users to generate an optimized route with restrictions against hazardous materials being carried by certain vehicles in the fleet that carry hazardous materials;
  • Real-Time Traffic:  RouteSavvy Premium API can access real-time traffic data to identify roads with traffic problems or delays and provide optimized routes that take into consideration traffic delays as they occur, and allow route planning solutions built with the RouteSavvy Premium API to re-route vehicles on the fly;
  • Predictive Traffic Routing:  RouteSavvy Premium API also can access traffic history information from a variety of sources about traffic delay patterns and provide an optimized route based on future traffic conditions, i.e. tomorrow morning at 9 am.
  • Up to 100 Stops:  Unlike many Route Optimization APIs, the RouteSavvy Premium API can provide optimized routes using up to 100 stops (50 stops with traffic). This is significantly more than other route optimization solutions at this price point that typically only allow 15-25 stops to be optimized. The RouteSavvy Premium API allows developers of route optimization systems to optimize larger routes, and for multiple days.
  • Avoid Areas: The RouteSavvy Premium API allows users to specify an area that they want the optimized route to avoid. This is very useful for avoiding high congestion, high crime, weather and road conditions, etc.

RouteSavvy Premium API Offers Significant Benefits

RouteSavvy Premium API is a cost-effective way for independent software developers and enterprise software developers to gain access to advanced route optimization functionality. The results and benefits of deploying RouteSavvy API Premium include:

  • Improved route optimization for scenarios that aren’t handled well by most route optimization software systems
  • Time savings
  • Fuel savings
  • Labor cost savings
  • Improved customer satisfaction

RouteSavvy™ Premium API – An Affordable Route Optimization API - Fast ROI

Using the RouteSavvy Premium API, route optimization system developers can integrate advanced, money- and time-saving route optimization features that result in a powerful, cost-saving route optimization system.  RouteSavvy Premium APIs are priced starting at $4 per vehicle per month, with multiple discount levels available base on the volume of vehicles in a fleet.

OnTerra Unveils New RouteSavvy Route Planning Software

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OnTerra Systems Introduces New Version of RouteSavvy™ Route Planning Software That Allows Small Fleets & Individual Professionals To Organize and Optimize Multi-stop Routes, Save Money & Time, and Reduce Fuel Costs

*************************************************************************************************************

Powerful, new, web-based route planning software from OnTerra Systems
designed for field services, pick-up, delivery, collection & transport businesses & individual professionals, and those seeking an alternative to MapPoint and Streets & Trips

DENVER, Colo., Jan. 20, 2015 – OnTerra Systems (www.OnTerraSystems.com), a technology leader in Web mapping, route optimization, and Bing maps licensing and services, today introduced a new version of RouteSavvy™ – powerful, easy-to-use, web-based route planning software for small and mid-sized business fleets and business professionals who drive to multiple destinations for their work, and those seeking a new route optimization tool as an alternative to Microsoft’s MapPoint and Streets & Trips, which were discontinued on Dec. 31, 2014.  RouteSavvy is based on advanced optimization algorithms from OnTerra and Bing Maps’ Web mapping technology.

RouteSavvy can organize and optimize routes with hundreds of stops; provides two types of optimized routes (round-trip, or start-to-finish routes); and can optimize a route in seconds.

RouteSavvy is available now, and has been designed by web mapping & route optimization experts with a friendly interface that’s similar to MapPoint and Streets & Trips, thus minimizing the time needed to learn to use RouteSavvy by former MapPoint and Streets & Trips users.

RouteSavvy requires no programming skills, or hardware or software installation and maintenance.  Instead, as a web-based route planning tool, all that’s needed is a computer or tablet and an internet connection to start organizing and optimizing routes.

With RouteSavvy, ROI is immediate, i.e. money and time are saved the day RouteSavvy route planning & optimizing is deployed.

“RouteSavvy is an absolute necessity for businesses, organizations, and individual professionals that want to drop their operating costs, improve profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction,” said Steve Milroy, OnTerra Systems’ president and founder.  “For MapPoint and Streets & Trips users who want a route planning software tool to replace MapPoint or Streets & Trips without the pain of learning a new system, RouteSavvy provides the best of both worlds: a new software tool that’s available now, but looks, feels, and operates like MapPoint and Streets & Trips.”

Affordable Pricing Makes RouteSavvy A “No Brainer”

RouteSavvy from OnTerra Systems is an affordable, web-based, subscription-based route planning tool that costs just $300 per year for up to three users.  Additional pricing tiers for a higher amount of users incorporate volume discounts.  In addition, RouteSavvy is priced significantly less than many comparable route planning tools.

RouteSavvy Functions Streamline Route Planning & Optimization

RouteSavvy allows users to input multiple locations, organize locations, create efficient and optimized routes for deliveries, pick-ups, service, and sales calls, get directions, and then print or export the optimized route and directions for use by field personnel.

RouteSavvy has four key benefits:

1)  Improved productivity (Handle more calls per day)

2)  Time savings  (Equates to reduced labor costs in general & reduced over-time labor costs)

3)  Reduced fuel costs  (More efficient routing equates to less fuel used and cost savings on the amount of fuel used)

4)  Reduced environmental impact (Minimizes a company’s “carbon footprint”)

RouteSavvy Offers Familiar MapPoint and Streets & Trips Features & Functions

RouteSavvy is an ideal MapPoint and Streets & Trips alternative that’s available now, offers similar pricing, and has similar features and functions to MapPoint and Streets & Trips.  RouteSavvy has incorporated the most used, most popular route planning functions found in MapPoint and Streets & Trips, including:

  • easy import of spreadsheets
  • auto-save functions & project-based files let users work like they’re using a desktop application even though it’s a web-based system
  • ability to easily plan routes and perform manual over-ride routes if business rules demand a different order
  • Ad hoc coloring and organization of location data (use of symbols, color-coding, and highlighting allow users to manipulate and highlight data to visualize information, business intelligence, and see patterns that would not be clear from a written description)
